TIPS FOR LIPO BATTERY (“LIPO”) CARE:

DON’T

1.     Don’t short circuits, expose in fire/high temperature, dismantle, modify or any misuse;

2.     Don’t over discharge to low voltage below its norm at 3.7v/cell where damages may be extended as long as reaching the cut-off point (i.e., dead-zone at below 2.75v/cell);

3.     Don’t discharge with drawing current over the LIPO’s specification and over drawing current would seriously shorten the LIPO cycle-life and/or cause danger while over-heating.

4.     Don’t over-heat (over 70’C surface temperature) the battery when discharge, it would shorten LIPO cycle-life substantially (use higher “C” / higher capacity/ lower impedance LIPO to avoid over-heating or swelling problem);

5.     Don’t keep the LIPO at low voltage (at below 50% capacity/ 3.6V per cell) for a long period. LIPO voltage may deplete over storage period and become unstable or cause internal damages otherwise. Safe storage range per cell would be 3.6V- 4.0V at all time.

6.     Don’t store the LIPO near any electrical appliances such as TV/ Fridge/ Hi-Fi/ Microwave/ Cooker etc. to avoid any damages it may cause to the LIPO in whichever manner;

7.     Don’t continue to use the LIPO when any leaking/ mishap/ damage on cell packing occurs.

DO

1.     Do initialize/activate the LIPO (when new) by charging at (< 1C)  & discharging (at about 50-60% of LIPO discharge specification) for at least 5 cycles before normal application in order to optimize LIPO performance.

2.     Do use the specialized LIPO charger with charge current <= 1C (pls also check the user guide/ instruction of the relevant charger for utmost care);

3.     Do discharge the LIPO near to the norm for a complete discharge cycle and recharge the LIPO soonest after temperature settlement under normal discharge (i.e., above the norm at 3.7v/cell);

4.     Do store the LIPO at charged condition within cool room temperature and at all time about 50% capacity or 3.6V-4.0V per cell if for a long period;

5.     Do monitor and stabilize/balance per cell voltage to maximize the LIPO performance and cycle-life (when charge/discharge in multi-cell pack).

6.     Do use/store/dispose the LIPO with utmost care & caution at all times;

7.     Do fully discharge the LIPO before disposal & dispose in an appropriate Environmental Care Collection Area;
